A few teams with new staff who were attempting to be more organized and efficient changed the equasion and began making their own schedule before the normal, casual process had run it's course. Suddenly there were angry people and schedules that excluded teams, new tournaments and so on. There is even at least one team that has not even had their first practice yet to know how many kids they will have and at what age groups to know if they can fit the proposed schedules.
The truth is that the people who were doing it casually were right, it has worked fine for all of this time. The other truth is that the people trying to do things more efficiently and earlier in the process were right also. Things have to be more orgaanized, parets need to plan etc.
I do not know what the solution is, but with all of this confusion, I am sure hoping for a third plan on how to do this next year that is somewhere between the two ideologies that collided violently this year.
